Ministries of Worship & Praise
We offer a traditional worship and praise service at 10:30 AM every Sunday morning and on other special days during the year. We also offer a contemporary worship and praise service every Sunday night at 6:00 PM. Both services include music, biblical teaching and special events. Come as you are. Praise the Lord as you feel. We just want you to enjoy your faith!
Ministries of Spiritual Discovery and Growth
We offer Sunday Church School classes for every age, with biblical teaching at 9:30 AM. Come earlier at 9:00 AM for fellowship time with coffee and cookies in the Fellowship Hall. Bible Study and Prayer Meeting is led by Roy Smith, on Wednesdays at 6:30 PM. Wednesday evenings also includes Java With Jesus, for youth, at 6:00 PM.
We have Vacation Bible School each summer, other short term classes which meet periodically and are developing others all the time.
Ministries of Fellowship and Support
Methodist Youth Fellowship meets every Sunday evening at 5:00PM. This group is for teens, 6th–12th grades. The purpose of this group is to help teens discover how to live their faith, in their world, and impact it for Jesus Christ. They have programs, service projects, travel and a lot of fun.
We have several groups of United Methodist Women, which meet at different times during the month. You pick the one, which is most convenient for you. The purpose of these groups is to support and advocate missions locally, nationally and internationally. Join one of these groups and be a missions advocate too.
The United Methodist Men’s group meets each second Sunday morning at 7:30 AM, for breakfast and fellowship. They also support local outreach ministries such as the Love Center, the Way of the Cross Ministries, bell ringing for Salvation Army, and health care for children through the All Kids Foundation.
Ministries to Others
There are several outreach ministries to the community, and beyond, we do and in which you may like to participate, such as:
- Water Give-Away, at the big yard sale,
- Free Labor Day Fish Fry,
- Car Washes,
- Fall Friendship Festival
A new ministry to families is our
Parents Night Out, which happens each 2nd Friday nights from 6:00 – 10:00 PM. This allows parents, for a small fee, to bring their children to the church for some fun, so they can have a little time for themselves.
The
Circle of Friends is a ministry, group of our church, which cares for the mentally challenged people of the Gadsden area. Each month on the 2nd Tuesday, at 5:00 PM, dozens of these handicapped people come in for supper, a devotional, short programs, fun and games. For a couple of hours they are loved and treated as valued persons.
Another ministry, which reoccurs each month is the
Angel Food Program. For $25 per unit, anyone may purchase enough food for a family of four, for one week; or an individual for a month. No strings! Sign up, pay for your groceries, and pick them up on the distribution day. Call for more details.
Celebrate Recovery
A bold new step we are taking to help people, who are sometimes overlooked is
CELEBRATE RECOVERY. Every Tuesdays, at 6:30 PM we will be ministering to, and supporting the recovery of, people with life controlling addictions, such as to alcoholism, narcotics, sexual and food addictions, as well as other emotional disorders, and their loved ones. It begins with contemporary worship, teaching and sharing at 6:30 PM: followed by small group for support, at 7:30 PM: and then a fellowship time, at 8:30 PM. Celebrate Recovery will change the lives for hurting people and their loved ones. For more information about Celebrate Recovery please visit their website at
